Captain's Job!

Win The Game! And Make the Team Enjoy it!

Captain's Homework
A. Tell yourself - and your team - you can beat any team that you are playing otherwise you won't be playing them in the first place!
1. Get the best possible side out of what you have (Best means Balanced; Balanced means what you would and/or could use!) Communicate with your key players and also with those who are on the edge of the team. Keep them informed why they are not playing, or when they are playing - what's their role!
2. Know your team's strength and weaknesses! Try play to your strength!
3. Find about your opposition!
4. Find about the wicket!
5. Look at older scorecards!
6. Try to take control of the game and retain it. You want pressure on "them".
7. Fast bowlers are good in the morning, and spinners in the evening. Oh! don't we know the exceptions, but anyways, its roughly ok to keep this in mind.
8. Keep the better batsman of the two as much away from strike; cut his fours, give him singles. Don't make it obvious to him, just push important boundary positions back, and bring those boundaries where he can take two, about 15 yards in.
9. Don't relax on the poorer batsman, get him out!
10. Don't fall on the extremes: over-agressive or over-defensive.
11. It's important to keep the morale of your team up at all times until the last bowl is bowled.

More Coming!
